Alexander Wedderspoon

The Very Rev Alexander Gillan Wedderspoon was an eminent Anglican priest in the last quarter of the 20th Century and the very start of the 21st. He was born on 3 April 1931 and educated at Westminster School and Jesus College, Oxford and ordained in 1961 after National Service with the Royal Artillery.[1] He was then a Curate in Kingston upon Thames, a Lecturer in Religious Education at the University of London, Priest in charge of St Margaret's, Westminster[2] and then a canon Residentiary at Winchester Cathedral before his elevation to the Deanery at Guildford Cathedral, a post he was to hold for 14 years.[3]
